Davey Lawson on the porch in the Blue Ridge

Montani Semper Liberi

Stories pulledfrom the holler.

Davey Lawson was raised in the backwoods and coalfields of West Virginia, and he owes a great educational debt to the lyrical storytellers there who didn't trust the world enough to write their best tales down on paper. He writes literary fiction rooted in Appalachian gothic, folk horror, and all forms of the uncanny.

These days, you're most likely to find him wandering in the woods with his dog Hank. Davey is friendlier than he looks. Hank is friendlier than he sounds.
